About Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann...
Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann (commonly known as Comhaltas) was formed 1951 and is the largest organisation involved in the preservation and promotion of Irish traditional music. It is a non-profit cultural movement with hundreds of local branches in Ireland and around the world. Comhaltas functions with a structure similar to that of the GAA, i.e. local branch, County, Provincial, and All-Ireland level. It is probably best known as the organiser of the All-Ireland Fleadh each year where the best are crowned All-Ireland champions.
